Josep Carreras enchanted the audience in Beijing
Eccoci con un po' di materiale accumulato su questo concerto che Josep Carreras ha offerto ieri presso la Grande Sala del Popolo di Pechino. Immediatamente dopo il concerto sono state pubblicate le prime immagini, oggi anche qualche articolo scritto, che tenterò di interpretare per quanto possibile, non conoscendo il cinese.

A distanza di 14 anni dalla prima visita in Cina, ieri Josep Carreras si è esibito per la seconda volta alla Grande Sala del Popolo di Pechino, accompagnato da tre cantanti cinesi e dall'Orchestra Sinfonica Nazionale Cinese diretta da David Giménez.
Rispetto quella prima volta, il pubblico cinese ha riscontrato in lui una minore brillantezza nelle note alte, particolare ovvio tanto quanto il suo colore di capelli ormai tendente all'argento, ma non ha potuto negare il fatto che assistere al suo concerto si è rivelata un'esperienza magnifica, equiparabile a una passeggiata nel mondo dell'eleganza del canto. Un'immagine suggestiva, non trovate?
Josep ha cantato alcuni brani tipici del suo repertorio quali "L'Ultima Canzone", "Silenzio Cantatore", "The Impossible Dream", "Passione", "Vurria", "Anema e core" e "Core 'ngrato".
Nel corso del concerto è stato affiancato da tre cantanti cinesi, un grande tocco di intimità per lo spettacolo: con Wang Fei, il tenore si è esibito del duo "Lippen Schweigen" tratto dall'operetta "La Vedova Allegra" (Die lustige Witwe); con la giovane Cao Fujia ha interpretato frammenti tratti dal musical "The Phantom of the Opera"... tra cui, deduco, "All I ask of you", e l'immancabile e già annunciato duo con Zu Hai, "A Faraway Place", che non solo ha mostrato quanto il tenore si sia impegnato nel pronunciare accuratamente in testo in cinese, ma soprattutto è stato testimonianza di come oriente e occidente si possano intrecciare per garantire un fascino unico tradotto in grande musica.
La reazione a dir poco entusiastica del pubblico di Pechino ha esaltato insieme alla musica e alla voce sublime di Josep Carreras l'impeccabile acustica della sala.
Tra gli encores "Chitarra Romana", "Dicitencello Vuje" (credo) e "Moon River" insieme alle tre voci femminili, momento culmine della serata, conclusasi con il Brindisi de la Traviata cantato in coppia con Wang Fei.
Sicuramente un concerto molto originale, ora non resta che attendere il prossimo che si terrà sabato presso l'Opera di Guanzhou.

Throughout the concert he has performed with three chinese singers, something that increased the intimacy level of the show: he sang the duet "Lippen Schweigen" from The Merry Widow with Wang Fei, then some fragment taken from "The Phantom of the Opera" (suppose also "All I ask of you") with young singer Cao Fujia, and could not miss the previously announce duet with Zu Hai, "A Faraway Place". It not only showed that Carreras can pronunciate Chinese quite correct, but also that eastern and western can walk together to guarantee charming moments of great music.
Enthusiastic reactions by the audience and Josep Carreras' sublime voice highlighted the wonderful acustics of the hall.
◦ Among the encores, "Chitarra Romana", "Dicetencello Vuje", "Moon River" that he might have sung together with the other singers: the most incredible moment of the show ended with the Brindisi from La Traviata.
A wonderful concert without doubts: now we have just to wait the next one which will take place at the Guanzhou Opera House on Saturday.
